Each month I receive several books requesting book reviews. Two books recently came across my desk and the titles caught my attention immediately, including Inspirational Writings from the Living Water (Kingdom Publishing, $13.95) Author Tanya Tucker-Blowe writes words of poetry that speak to me about real life situations. What ever I was going through that day, I was able to find a poem that would speak words of encouragement that helped me along. One particular poem titled “What’s In A Day?” encouraged me to realize everyday is a good day and an opportunity to start it right. You will find poems that speak about faith and relationships. The wisdom Tanya shares with her readers gives you another perspective on life and encourages you not to give up. Tanya is a local author who herself is an inspiration. This book will make a great gift for someone special.
Somebody Prayed For Me (Xpress Yourself Publishing, $10.95) is a compilation of short stories and poetry written by three authors Allyson M. Deese, Linda R. Herman and Tinisha Nicole Johnson. The stories share with you the pains their characters endured as they cried silently. However, they made it through because someone was praying for them. Although these stories are fictional, I’m sure we know someone that has painful experiences and we pray for them. The poetry throughout the book will speak to you individually. I am interested in reading more from these three individuals. They are very talented and will keep you engaged in the stories.
