Was I ever happy to be sitting in my friend’s dining room after an evening of Latin Jazz. We returned to their home to a happy little girl. Their active 2 year old granddaughter first cuddled and then ran from room to room, remedy chattering happily about her fairy costume! She requested her wand and tiara determined to get her Grandmother’s assistance. Her language skills were excellent. It occurred to me that that was no accident considering the wonderful household she was a part of. Renita reminded me that about five years ago I had shared my heart’s desire to do just what I am doing now- writing! My friend affirmed that this leg of my journey was evidence of God’s workmanship. We laughed and agreed that I am the middle-aged poster person for encouragement. What a journey!
As we chuckled with delight, here we agreed that there are many at their crossroads also. They are gazing out the windows of their minds bewildered by this current state of affairs. The predictable “security blankets” which we perceived as safety nets are now part of a bygone era. We no longer snuggle comfortably; the security blanket of a reliable economy is frayed, order knotted and rough to the touch. There’s a shake up going on!
