How to be a realtor

I’m considering becoming a Real Estate Agent. What are the requirements and how long will it take?

 

Let me first tell you that, for me, deciding to become a Real Estate agent was the most fun, crazy, agonizing, fulfilling, anxious – did I say crazy? – and best decision I’ve ever made. I couldn’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be in this industry and to do what I do. It’s not always easy, but it is always interesting and I learn something new every day. Becoming a Real Estate is not overly difficult. The amount of time it takes is up to you.

 

First, you have to complete a 60 hour pre-licensing course with an accredited Real Estate School. Real Estate school accreditation is handled by the Virginia Real Estate Board. Many schools offer classes that are taught in as little as one week. Conversely, there are courses that are offered for as long as six weeks. Online courses are usually offered for a student to work at their own pace. So you have many options.
