As Anchor of Good Morning Richmond and 8News at 9, Amie McLain embodies poise and plucky spirit: The New Orleans native left her hometown for Washington DC to attend Howard University. She’s visited eight countries and was one of three journalists nationwide to receive a fellowship that sent her to West Africa to report on an historic conference.
Amie’s always cool under pressure, right?
“Most people assume that just because you’re on TV, you should know how to be a great public speaker,” Amie says. “For me, that’s not the case. Speaking in front of people right in front of you is a different experience than speaking to a camera lens.”
