Rules of Office Romance

I am a 27-year old professional who is in a relationship with someone I work with. We’ve been dating for about three months. Some of the people I work with know about the relationship and are happy for me. When I checked company policy, it does not appear as though we are breaking any of the rules. But given recent scandals, I got scared: I don’t want to lose my job over this. What should I do?

I truly understand your concern. Office romance rules can be tricky in the workplace and for good reason. True, this person could be your soul mate and you might live happily ever after. But in many cases, it doesn’t work out that wonderfully. In a recent CNN Money article, one expert said that only 22 percent of office romances lead to marriage. So, if you are to embark on an office romance, there are some questions you’ll want to ponder:
