Brother 2 Brother (B2B) recently held its 2nd annual conference at the Boys and Girls Club of South Richmond. Participants engaged in workshops on entrepreneurship and more. Instructors were Bryant Jefferson of the B. Jefferson Foundation, Fred Eyerman of SCORE, Richard Sutton of People Demand Quality, and Lorenzo James. Malcolm Andress, President of Soul Ice Vending, was keynote speaker. Rodney Evans Jr., a recent graduate of Lee Davis High School in Mechanicsville, talked about his full academic scholarship to attend Yale University.

Founded in Jan. 2009 by brothers Lloyd and Sean Young, B2B aims to address issues that some young black males face—high incarceration, low education, and lack of positive role models. B2B is registered with Virginia Mentoring Partnership and Michael Baisden’s One Million Mentor Movement. With their father Lloyd Young Jr. and their brother Keon, the pair recently released “Brother to Brother: Motivation for Young African American Men” a book available at www.xlibris.com.

B2B welcomes black males age 7-18 who need mentoring services and black men ages 21 and older to be mentors and role models. For more info or to register, contact Sean at 539-5647 or youngmindsinc@gmail.com.
