You’ve Got the Umph to Rejoice in 2011!

It’s February, but it’s never too late to wish friends a happy new year. I would like to believe that we’re rolling into 2011 with confident hearts. Last night I played a game that was a great lesson for our 2011 outlook.

One of my favorite Christmas gifts was the Diamond Anniversary Edition of Scrabble. It’s in a portable case with canister rollers, neat compartments, drawers, onyx tiles and features a raised game board. Hey, it’s a Scrabble lover’s dream game! Last night my Mother-in-law and I played, creating words and wearing our best poker faces when our spelling was questionable. Suddenly she blurted out, “We’re locked in this corner and need to get out!”

Often in the game, players build words that become concentrated in one section of the board and it becomes increasingly difficult to maneuver out of the section, before long you just can’t seem to move! Let me encourage you not to personally surrender to being locked in and locked down to ole familiar – to circumstances so common, so predictable, and stifling.

Imagine if we take a good, hard look at our lives and are honest with ourselves: Movement toward our goals will probably become natural. So in a nut shell my friend, let’s go on and rejoice! Don’t surrender to unsatisfactory circumstances. Refocus and regain your stamina in 2011. Know that there’s a blessing in your tenacity. Be assured that if you purposely open a door to a new mindset, amazing results will become visibly evident. And for sure God hasn’t turned His back to your concerns. Finally, go on and thank him for game winning strategies, they are all around us. Can you spell, T-R-I-U-M-P-H-A-N-T?
