Fraternity Takes Part in Annual ‘Black Men Read’ Program

Members of Upsilon Nu Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. participated in the Annual “Black Men Read” program held at Bellevue Elementary School during Black History Month. The program is designed to increase the visibility of Black Men in the classroom by recruiting 100 Black Men to read to area elementary students and talk about their careers. Nationally only 2 percent of the nation’s 4.8 million teachers are black men, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
