Soul Bowl raises over $70,000 for charity

Since 2007, the Soul Bowl Lounge has been held at AMF Shrader Lanes, and the response has been fantastic. So good, in fact, that Avail Marketing, creator of the event, has raised over $70,000 for various charities and nonprofits since its inception. The event raised $15,000 last year alone.

Held every other month, the Soul Bowl Lounge has been a place for the community to gather and enjoy some rounds on the lanes. According to Avail Marketing, the event attracts sell-out crowds, averaging 500-600 attendees per event. With this kind of turnout, the event has become a great place for other nonprofit groups to network and gain exposure for their cause. According to Avail Marketing founder Johnathan Mayo, this is one of the purposes of the event.

“With the current state of the economy and decline in charitable contributions, it is important that we all embrace concepts such as Soul Bowl Lounge that facilitate collaboration and efficiency in fundraising”, says Mayo in a press release. The positive response of other nonprofits in the area is a convincing argument for the success of the event’s push for networking between groups.

“The relationships with local non-profit organizations have been a tremendous contributor to the success of Soul Bowl and I truly believe we would not have experienced the same level of success without their involvement,” says Mayo.

According to Avail Marketing, long-term plans for the Soul Bowl Lounge include expanding the event to 40 cities and an annual fundraising goal of $800,000 for charity.

Visit the Soul Bowl on Facebook. The next event will be held August 27th.
