Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures

Regular physical activity is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Making physical activity a priority and encouraging good habits in children from an early age is important and can help them to develop the skills they need to continue being active throughout their lives. When children exercise, they just feel good. Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is getting kids moving, making nutrition fun, and inspiring communities to invest in our schools and children to inspire them to be healthy.

Novel Idea Turns into Textbook Scholarship

One thing we know for sure is that college is not cheap. Even after a student is accepted into college, the costs continue with expenses, including textbooks and supplies needed for classes, and to ultimately be successful in class. Studies show that textbook costs alone have increased by more than 800 percent since 1978, and the inflation rate is higher than college tuition alone.

Wrapped in Love & Care – Virginia’s First Diaper Bank

Capital Diaper Bank is wrapping children across Virginia with love and care because every baby deserves a clean bottom, and a clean diaper. With their “Wrapped in Love” campaign, Capital Diaper Bank in Richmond is making sure every child has a clean diaper, enough clean diapers, and raising community awareness about the need for diapers in the community. Can you imagine having to cut back on groceries to ensure your little one has a fresh diaper? Can you imagine a mother having to deny her child a clean diaper to pay the electricity bill? Well, it is true.
