Many of us are preparing for the upcoming presidential inauguration that will take place on Jan. 20. I have to ask myself: What have we prepared for our lives for this New Year? Many of us have experienced losses of jobs, homes, and income, preventing us from stretching paychecks from one payday to the next. Many things will throw us off track. A good book can ease some of the stress and provide the knowledge to help you find your way. I want to recommend good books that can make you think deeper than your situation.
The Someday List (Revell, $12.99) introduces Rachelle Covington who thinks she has it all. Covington’s best friend asks what has she planned for her future? Covington begins to search her heart, and she realizes that she may have to give up everything, or prepare for her future. Author Stacy Hawkins Adams has written another uplifting novel. After reading this novel you won’t want to waste any more time not getting your list together. I feel that we all will learn great lessons from this wonderful story. This book will be released Jan.9.
C’ing Your Way Clear: Every Woman’s Guide to Handling Life’s Storms (Haci Publishing $10.95) is a wonderful book filled with stories of women that have faced personal challenges, addiction, incest, unexpected death of a spouse, sickness, teenage pregnancy, care of an aging parent and much more. Author Toya L. Evans has written this book to teach us that no matter what our storm may be, we can be achievers. You will be encouraged as you read each woman’s life experience and how they gave thanks in all of their situations.
