We have so much to be thankful for. As we walk this journey of life, we will experience many lessons. We will stumble, but we must never give up. I recently read The Blessedness of Believing (Tate Publishing, $14.99). Author Linda Meadows has written a number of devotions where she allows you to learn about her experiences with life’s challenges and how she overcame her obstacles by having faith. This is a book that I truly enjoyed, as it uplifted my spirits. You also can find her words of inspiration at http://believing.blogspot.com. I had an opportunity to speak with the author.
What inspired you to write The Blessedness of Believing?
Linda Meadows: It was never my intention to write a book. I was encouraged by my husband. The book became a testament about God’s goodness.
You seem to always have encouraging words for others. What do you most want to share with your readers?
I really want to encourage people with this book even if it’s only for a moment: I use my own experiences when writing my devotionals. My devotionals are my real life experiences. There are so many dynamics with blended families. Parents are overwhelmed and we always want the relationships to work. I was very close to my grandfather. He would take me to meet family members every Sunday. This was very important to him that I learned about my family history and [that we] learned to love each other no matter what our backgrounds were. You must truly trust in God. We must know that He truly loves us and understands our predicaments.
