We have all heard the phrase all things in moderation, but some things are so good that you can’t help but to overindulge. In fact, the jury is still out on whether something that is so natural can actually be an addiction. Hypersexuality, sexual dependency, and sexual compulsivity are all terms to describe sexual addiction in the psychological community albeit it is not formally classified as an addiction. On this particular subject Wikipedia states, “Some experts believe that sexual addiction is literally an addiction, directly analogous to alcohol and drug addictions. Other experts believe that sexual addiction is actually a form of obsessive compulsive disorder and refer to it as sexual compulsivity. Still other experts believe that sex addiction is itself a myth, a by-product of cultural and other influences.”
So if the experts aren’t sure if sex can become an addiction, how can you conclude that you have a problem?
