When it comes to abdominals, everybody has a six pack. But the question is, can you see it? Spending hour after hour on crunches and sit-ups will not show the world your abdominal muscles. Crunches and sit-ups define abs while proper diet and cardio reveal them. A low-calorie diet combined with 3-5 days of cardio will put you on the path to a flatter stomach. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends no less than 1200 calories per day, and 20-60 minutes of continuous cardiovascular activity 3-5 days a week. Adding strength exercises or a weight lifting routine at least twice a week will also help with weight loss as muscle burns calories all day long. The more calories you burn, the more weight you will lose.
