Virginia Credit Union has awarded $1,000 college scholarships to seven graduating seniors from public high schools in the City of Richmond.
The students are:
Quane’dra J. Mason, of John Marshall High School, who plans to attend Spelman College;
Bryce P. Pauley of Thomas Jefferson High School, who plans to attend Georgia State University;
Tria M. Coles of Richmond Community High School, who will attend Wake
Xavia A. Gary of Armstrong High School who plans to attend James Madison University;
Sigourney Bailey of Open High School, who plans to attend Marymount University;
Channetta L. Johnson of George Wythe High School, who will attend James Madison University;
Talitha K. Omens El-Ji of Huguenot High School who will attend Virginia Commonwealth University.
The criteria for the Success Scholarship include academic achievement, extracurricular activities, volunteer involvement, and an essay. The Success Scholarship is open to students at Richmond City high schools.
