The 5th annual Black Marriage Day in Richmond is March 26. The event is free and has a wealth of information for singles, married and unmarried couples and teens. Workshops include:

• How to Keep Disagreements from Escalating
Partnering with First Things First of Greater Richmond we will be offering a class on how to keep disagreements from escalating, hosted by LeMar Bowens who hosts Real Talk Real Change on WCLM radio. East District Family Resource Center, 2405 Jefferson Ave, 12:30 to 5 pm.
The Hanover Historical Organization will meet March 27 and tour of John L. Thompson Learning Center and Pop’s Country Store Museum at 2 pm. Archer Di Peppe, appraiser, will speak about the origins of the collection and how the museum became a reality. http://hanoverhistorical.org
Richmond Chapter VSUAA presents its Spring Dinner Dance, Jones Dining Hall on the campus of VSU. The Dance features a Southern Buffet, live music includes Glennroy Bailey and Company on Saturday, April 2 from 6:30 pm – 11:30 pm. Attire: Semi-Formal, donation: $60 per person. Friday Cheers, Richmond’s oldest summer concert series kicks off its 27th season! It’ll take place every Friday from May 6-June 24 (excluding May 13, for Dominion Riverrock) on Brown’s Island on downtown Richmond’s historic riverfront. Each event is $5 – $10 (13 and over). Season Passes are $35 until April 1, and are $40 thereafter.
