On Tuesday, November 14, more than 50 dentists and dental hygienists will provide Richmond’s homeless population with the opportunity to receive a dental exam and dental treatment.
In partnership with the VCU School of Dentistry and Dental Hygiene, the Virginia Dental Association Foundation’s (VDAF) Mission of Mercy (MOM) program will participate in Project Homeless Connect, allowing upwards of 75 patients to be seen for an exam, cleaning or extractions as needed. Patients will be seen from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and the event takes place at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
Mission of Mercy (MOM) is the Virginia Dental Association Foundation’s mobile dental clinic program, developed by Dr. Terry Dickinson in 2000. MOM projects improve the oral health of an average of over 3,000 people – primarily uninsured adults – each year by providing preventative, restorative and surgical services in strategic locations across the state. An estimated 75 patients are expected to receive oral care at the November 14 event.
The Greater Richmond Convention Center is located at 403 N. 3rd. Street Richmond, VA 23219
