The changes include a restyled front and rear, with new front fascia, grilles and headlamps; new rear fascia and dual-element taillamps and a new 8-inch reconfigurable color driver information center.

The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 has a new standard 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen radio and a new available navigation radio.
The Malibu is offered in L, LS, RS, LT, Hybrid and Premier models. The all-new Malibu RS offers a sporty, personalized appearance, driven by blacked-out styling cues that include a black sport grille, black bowtie emblems, a rear spoiler, 18-inch wheels and dual-outlet exhaust. Inside, it features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped shifter and black cloth seats.

The 1.5L Turbo engine with a Continuously Variable Transmission is standard on L, LS, RS and LT. A 2.0L Turbo engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission is standard on Premier.
OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot is standard on LS, RS and LT, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone projection compatibility is standard on LS, RS, LT, Hybrid and Premier. Teen Driver feature is standard on LS, RS, LT, Hybrid and Premier.
Rear seat reminder and keyless open and keyless start are standard. Remote vehicle start and wireless charging are available. Dual rear-seat USB ports and a 110V power outlet are available on LT and Hybrid and standard on Premier.
Heated leather-trimmed front seats are standard on Premier and available on LT and Hybrid. Ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on Premier. Power sunroof is available on LT, Hybrid and Premier.
A rear-vision camera is standard, as well as StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, all-speed traction control and hill hold. The Driver Confidence Package is available on LT, Hybrid and Premier. It includes Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist.
The Driver Confidence Package II is available on Premier and includes Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking and IntelliBeam automatic high-beam control.
